Bad Install

How many more times do we get to see improper installs.  When asking the home owner they usually are tight lipped about who did the work. Our regulatory inspectors could put a stop to this but seem to have a blind eye at times.  The gas contractor who takes out a permit on this could have put a stop to this also.  The gas contractor signature on a permit warrants the passing of an improperly installed heating appliance again.   The longevity or life expectancy of this boiler install is cut in half.   The pipe and fitting types are not approved for boilers. Not much here follows CSA Hydronic code regulation.

I sure would like your input and thoughts about this subject?

Boiler Room Horror

I have been around this industry for a while, but still get surprised at what I see when the boiler room door opens.  I see this in homes, apartment blocks and commercial buildings all the time.

A word of advice to owners. Fix any problem immediately, do not let things fall apart.  The longer you leave a problem the more it is going to cost you.  I will try to add more photos to this horror show.

New Home, New Hydronic Heating System

This home heating system has two different appliances. A high efficient forced air furnace w/ air conditioning and a high efficient hydronic boiler system.  The forced air unit was installed by another contractor is not shown in the photos attached.  The boiler maintains basement floor heating,  main floor heating, garage heating and takes care of the Domestic Hot water.
